This quilt pattern by Stephanie Soebbing of Quilt Addicts Anonymous comes with instructions for a Crib ((29″ x 44″), Lap (53″ x 58″), Twin (53″ x 86″) and Queen (89″ x 100″).
Cables was inspired by my love of knitting and fear of knitting cables. The classic stitch pattern look of crossing yarns is created in quilt form through careful placement of fabrics according to color value, so it is a great pattern for mixing low volume and dark prints.
The majority of the quilt is strip-pieced, making it a fast project. I got my lap-sized version done from start to finish in six days, including the quilting … and that was with a sick toddler at home with me.
I love how Cables turned out with Delilah. The collection is beautiful and sophisticated, but presented a design challenge with equal amounts of light and dark prints. The cable design allowed me to separate the light prints from the background by using them in the cable centers, so they could stand out and live their best life.
Cables is part of our Stashin’ with Stephanie subscription club. The pattern is FREE for members, plus they get a brand-new fabric bundle each month and exclusive discounts on club fabric. Learn more and sign up here.
