This quilt pattern by Stephanie Soebbing of Quilt Addicts Anonymous comes with instructions for a Crib (36″ x 48″), Lap (72″ x 72″), Queen (84″ x 96″) and King (96″ x 96″).
It’s Stashin’ with Stephanie time! That’s when I design a new fat quarter friendly pattern inspired by our latest fabric collection we shipped to all of you!
Afternoon Picnic is inspired by all the lovely modern and bright fruits in More Pie by Dana Willard for FIGO Fabrics. It is the perfect quilt for anyone who loves half square triangles, or wants to be able to practice them to get better.
The entire quilt is made up of HSTs, grouped together by color to form a quilt block. The result is a straight forward, easy-to-sew layout, with a design that makes the blocks appear to be suspended on point.
In other words, my favorite type of quilt, one that looks harder than it actually is.
In the tutorial I walk you through how to make HSTs from squares, which in my opinion is the most accurate way to create them. How I pin to make sure all the points are exactly where they belong both when you assemble the block and join them together into rows. You’ll be an HST pro by the end!
Afternoon Picnic is part of our Stashin’ with Stephanie subscription club. Members get FREE monthly patterns, plus they get a brand-new fabric bundle each month and exclusive discounts on club fabric. Learn more and sign up here.
