Quilt Addicts Anonymous original pattern by Stephanie Soebbing.
This quilt was inspired by the desire to feature a small quantity of beautiful fabric. The background is a solid linen-viscose blend, which makes the cotton voile prints pop against the neutral background. Use the negative space to feature quilting designs or opt for straight-line quilting to create a modern look that can easily be completed on a home sewing machine. The pattern comes with instructions to make the lap quilt pictured on the cover and two, 20-inch throw pillows to match.
The name of the pattern, 1870, is a nod to Frou-Frou, the French fabric manufacturer that created the fabric featured in the quilt. Frou Frou means showy or frilly and it first appeared in the English language in 1870. The word was an imitation of the sound made by women’s skirts as they moved about in the sophisticated fashions of the day.
Finished size: 58.5 x 76 inches
