The Seeing Stars Quilt Kit includes 15 fat quarters of Martha by Andrea Patton for FIGO Fabrics plus background fabric to complete the quilt top. This quilt kit is a Lap and finishes at 48″ x 72″.
The PDF pattern for Seeing Stars must be ordered separately at this link.
A Log Cabin Ruler is helpful for this pattern, but not necessary. Order a Log Cabin Ruler by clicking here.
This month’s Stashin’ with Stephanie pattern combines my two favorite blocks, the sawtooth star and log cabin.
We are using four-at-a-time no-waste flying geese, which is fast and the most accurate way I know of to make flying geese. We’re also using the Marti Michell method for cutting log cabin strips on the length of fabric which is less stretchy than the width of fabric.
Using those methods, plus pressing our seams open, means you’ll have log cabin blocks that turn out the right size, and don’t get super wonky. And as always I cover it all in the video tutorial to go along with the pattern.
Our fabric this month is Martha by Andrea Patton for FIGO Fabrics. I love the dusty pinks and soft colors. We also used a medium scale fabric for the background, which is fabulous if you have kids, pets, significant others who spill coffee, or any combination of the three.
I worked really hard to make sure the color values were placed in a way to make each fabric in the line stand out. I love how it turned out and my team has been ooing and aahing over it as well.
