The All Around Tote kit includes everything you need to make this versatile bag featuring fabrics from Art Gallery plus Wax Canvas for the bottom. The finished bag measures 18″ wide, by 11.5″ tall, by 6″ deep.

About the kit and video:

It’s been a hot minute since we did a bag tutorial, mostly because I’ve gone to the shop and home and that’s about it. But we are in a new year, and I’m optimistic, so I finally sewed together the All Around Tote pattern by Sew Many Creations I cut nearly a year ago to use as a diaper bag.

This bag will hold everything and keep it organized. There are eight outside pockets, two zippered inside pockets, a divider and a flap to keep everything secure while you’re out. And it’s BIG, finishing at 18″ wide, 11 1/2″ tall and 6″ deep.

I plan to keep all my stuff and all the baby’s gear in it whenever I can take her places. But I think it is great for today’s times because you can have separate pockets for your face mask, keys, hand sanitizer, extra mask, wallet, hand sewing or knitting project. You name it, it will probably fit in this bag.

I used waxed canvas for the first time for my bag bottom and handles and I have to tell you I am impressed. It was super easy to work with, easier in some places than canvas or quilting cotton. Plus it is water resistant, which is great for keeping your bag looking nice when you are actually using it because water will bead on the surface rather than soak in.

The fabrics are perfect for spring, which will be here before we know it. And you can absolutely get this project done before spring. I cut and fused all the fabric in one night, then sewed the bag in two afternoons.

The bag isn’t hard, but there are a lot of steps, so the video is on the longer side. We’ve listed the time codes for the different assembly steps. All of the measurements and written instructions are included in the All Around Tote pattern by Sew Many Creations. This video is just a guide for anyone who is a visual learner.
