Star Bright Jelly Roll Christmas Tree Skirt – PDF Pattern

You must use a 60-degree triangle ruler with all three points, like the Clearview Triangle, in order to cut the right amount of diamonds for this pattern. You can purchase a Clearview Triangle ruler by clicking here.

For our 10th Make of Christmas we are starting a series, within a series. Today we will go over how to piece my new FREE pattern, the Star Bright Jelly Roll Christmas Tree Skirt.

Then tomorrow we’ll cover how to quilt it and wrap up with how to create and sew on bias binding to cover those curved edges on Saturday.

As the name suggests, one jelly roll will make one 50-inch diameter tree skirt. We are going to strip piece the diamonds and use a 60-degree ruler to offset the start of the strip rows to make the most of the fabric.

While I wouldn’t suggest this project for a true beginner, it isn’t too hard. So a confident beginner ready for a challenge or intermediate quilter could make it without becoming a sweary sewist. We cover all the steps in the video tutorial and the FREE pattern instructions to help you get this tree skirt under the tree this year.
