Finished size 60″ x 72″
This quilt kit includes everything for the top and binding to make Stripes exactly how it is pictured in my book, “Simple Quilts for the Modern Home.” The fabric I used is Avantgarde from Art Gallery Fabrics.
The pattern is located in the book, which is sold separately. Click here to get your signed copy of Simple Quilts for the Modern Home
Stripes is hands down the easiest and fastest quilt in my book. I literally pieced the entire top in an afternoon. But this quilt always gets lots of ooos and ahhs when I show it in person because my fabric choices make it look like I did a lot more work than I actually did.
That makes this quilt great for when you just need to finish a quilt fast, you want to show off some large modern prints or if you or someone you know is a true beginner and looking for an easy project.
The entire quilt top is strip pieced, so we go over that beginner quilting technique. Plus I show you how to keep everything lined up and how it is sometimes better to press seams to one side instead of open to get a great join.
We do have a limited supply of quilt kits for Stripes if you want to make one just like the original. We scooped up the last of the fabric in existence a few months ago in preparation for this video. So grab yours while supplies last.
This tutorial is meant to be a supplemental guide for people who are visual learners and want to see the quilt being assembled in addition to reading the instructions and assembly diagrams in the book. All of the cutting instructions, yardage requirements and everything else you need to make this pattern are included in “Simple Quilt for the Modern Home”.
