Intermediate Quilting with Stephanie Soebbing (4 sessions)

Four Wednesday sessions from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates: February 28, March 7, March 21, April 4. There will be homework in between courses.

Take your quilting to the next level by learning how to master triangles and get perfect points every time.

In this class you will learn how to create half square triangles, quarter square triangles, flying geese and pinwheels. You’ll learn how to work with bias seams so your triangles always turn out the right size, are never stretched out and the points end up where they are supposed to.

Plus we will cover free motion quilting so you have more options when it comes to finishing your quilts on your home sewing machine.

In the course you will make a lap-sized quilt from start to finish using an original Quilt Addicts Anonymous pattern that is perfect for an intermediate quilter. When you are finished with this course, you’ll have the knowledge to be able to tackle a beginner any quilt pattern that includes triangles on your own.

The course costs $80 for 8 hours of instruction from Stephanie, and you may need to purchase additional supplies. The course fee does not include the cost of fabric. The Raspberry Sherbet pattern is included in the class fee.

Previous quilting experience is required, but class participants must know how to cut fabric, sew an accurate quarter-inch seam, know how to assemble blocks into a quilt top, layer and baste a quilt and sew binding on their own.

Students will learn how to do the following:

Class one: Learn to sew half square triangles and quarter square triangles from squares

Class two: Learn to sew pinwheels and flying geese from squares.

Class three: Learn to sew triangle blocks together with perfect points every time

Class four: Free motion quilting
